Hannah's First Holy Communion

On a wonderfully sunny day in June in was Hannah's First Holy Communion. We had a lovely Mass followed by a BBQ spent with family and friends

My beautiful girl all grown up.

Me and my mate.

Cake

and pressies of course.

Zoo Keeper for the Day

For Lucy's Christmas present we bought her a Zoo Keeper for the Day Experience. Finally in May she got to spend the day at Wingham Wildlife Park in Kent. She had a fab day feeding lots of animals and mucking them out. A great experience before the real thing for her career.

First up were the Ring Tailed Lemurs that were very friendly.

Then onto the Pet Village where they fed and checked the rabbit. Feb the Guinea Pigs, Mice, Rats and Chipmunks.

Then onto the paddock where they fed goats, deer and Llamas.

Obama the Llama was the friendliest.

Then they fed the pigs along with the piglets who nibbled their wellie boots.

Then they fed the Birds of Prey with dead chicks, yuck. Great to see them swoop down to catch their food as it was put through the bars.

Watching the Cookabura's being fed their chicks.

They had the liveliest Red Panda I have seen. He kept on climbing the tree then coming down for a stroll, great for taking pictures.

The lovely Tiger.

And feeding the Pelicans.

Legoland with the cousins

As Friday was in an Inset Day for the younger ones we took a trip to Legoland with the cousins who had not been before. It was a fab day with lovely weather and even better with very excited kids who thoroughly enjoyed themselves that they are going back again.

We started very slowly with the little train ride but it was still very exciting being at the front of the train.

And at the back !

Hannah got to go on the big cars while the boys went on the little ones although I think Jack would have preferred the bigger ones.

After a trip underwater the kids loved to look through the tanks at the fish.

The very scary (not!) dinosaur ride. Thankfully I had Jack who could tell me what all the dinosaurs were called.

Then we got to go on the big train ride. Hannah and I knew the secret so laughed a lot when everyone got wet !!

Jack managed very well with his digger.

And Harry was in heaven just sitting in one, I think daddy did most of the operating.

Then for a ride on the horses

Easter Days Out

On a very very cold April day we visited Whipsnade Zoo. We had a great day as there are lots of things to see and do. Lots of the kids favourite animals were there, except for Katie's as that's a panda!!

We saw the brown bears being fed which was great to see them so close.

They also have a great herd of elephants which come out for a talk.

Later they also go for a walk around the park. They even hold each others tails as they walk along, so cute.

Unfortunately the giraffe house was closed so we couldn't get too close to them

Half Term

A fairly busy half term catching up with friends and family. Our last day we spent out at a very crowded Natural History Museum a favourite of all the girls, if a little tiring. We managed to see all the mammal exhibit and the dinosaur one as well thanks to some cunning booking from me to skip the hour long queue.

Hannah loved to meet up with Geraldine who she named last time she was there. See a little Hannah below.

We always have someone have their picture in front of the bear, this time was Lucy, a bit bigger than the last time we went.

Katie had to have her pic with her favourite animal as well.

Last time it was the elephant.

We all loved the dinosaur exhibit and thought of Jack.

Snow

Well finally the snow arrived and caused chaos for a bit. Fresh in the morning Martin went out for some snowy shots.

We always end up with mini snowmen on top of out fence posts.

This gives you an idea of just how thick it really was.

Not really much room for food for the birds.

Not to be recommended going down the slide !

Hannah being a good girl and helping to clear all the snow.

Of course we all do.

Daddy and Hannah played a game of noughts and crosses on the table, Hannah won !!
