Dancing Girls

And to finish this marathon. Today Katie and her friend Katrina took their Grade 1 ballet exam. Katie was a little nervous but thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Last Brownies

Last night was Katie's last session at her Brownies as she is now moving up to Guides. The Brownies had an awards ceremony for the achievements over the year. Katie was lucky enough to win the pack's shield for being the best Brownie for the year. The Brown Owl sent out a message to all parents telling them of who won the awards and wrote this about Katie -
Brownie Achievement Shield
The award is given to one of the Brownies who in our opinion has excelled in Brownie responsibilites. She has always behaved responsibly at meetings and is excellent at listening and following instructions. She is polite and courteous, kind and thoughtful to others, some might say an almost perfect Brownie.
Ooh proud Mummy night !!

Katie's Band

Having only just started learning the flute in October last year Katie has already progressed onto joining a woodwind band. For two weekends running they were performing. Firsly in the town centre in Sunny Saturday, and next at South Hill Park on an outdoor stage. It was great to watch Katie play.

Projects

Both Lucy and Katie have had projects to complete recently which have ended with some expert artwork by the whole family.
Firstly Katie and her friend did a project on Greece and they wanted a typical greek house made which we copied from a library book.
Then Lucy did a project on Castles after a visit to Warwick Castle. And yes you guessed it we had to make a castle. Not too bad an attempt but not quite defendable I think !!

Climbing

Wow are you ready for this lot, having had a few PC problems I am sooo behind on blog pictures so here goes for several of what we have been up to recently.
On one of visits to Chessington Katie asked if she could have a go at the climbing wall. Having never seen her do it wondered if she would make it to the top. Oh boy of course she did, it may have taken a few attempts but as the park was quiet we were allowed as many goes as we liked and Katie could climb up more than one side. She was very determined to reach the top !!

Royal Wedding Celebrations

So the Royal Wedding left us with a whole morning of TV watching but needed something else to keep us occupied. A great idea from Katie was a girlie morning. The girls started by making bunting after they had seen it at their street party at school. We then had the full royal treatment with a foot spa, foot massage, hair braiding, red and white (not blue though) nails, tattoos and face painting. When Hannah said she wanted a Union Jack on her face I thought just her cheek but this is the result of what she wanted !!

Check out the bunting !! A lovely day to remember.

Day out with Thomas

Today we had a lovely day on the Watercressline with Thomas and his friends, and cousins and Aunties and lots of sun. Loads of fun was had by all, and no doubt lots of sleep as well.

We had a ride on Diesel the engine.

And a ride on the guard van 'Toad' who was being pulled by Thomas

The kids loved the bouncy slide. Not easy to take piccies of though.

We went on a miniature train ride as well

Auntie Mimi and scrummy Max.

Harry as always was adorable, i think his shoes were more exciting than the trains.

Jack and Hannah had a lovely snuggle and hugs together, as always the pair of them smile beautifully for the camera.

A ride on the steam train to a different station for ice creams !!

Jack was fascinated by a bug crawling around, unfortunately the bug got squished !!

At the end of the day the only way to cool down was to have a run through the water sprinkler.

And then a snuggle in the towels !!
